The Whitehall Foundation graciously funded our project proposal entitled “The Fundamental Role of NMDA Receptor Co-agonism” that will attempt to address two fundamental properties of the NMDA receptor: 1) why do NMDA receptors require two chemical signals, glutamate and glycine, for
activation? And 2) how can NMDA receptors regulate both the strengthening and weakening of synapses during learning and memory?
The Whitehall Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation exclusively dedicated to assisting basic science research in neurobiology. I am extremely grateful to have this proposal funded and am looking forward to getting the project underway!
